Héraclides et Doriens à Rhodes et à Kos

Résumé. — Cet article étudie la situation dans le Dodécanèse à la fin du IIe millénaire à partir à la fois de la tradition littéraire et de la documentation archéologique. Les récits légendaires rapportent l’installation de l’Héraclide Tlépolémos à Rhodes et, plus sommairement, des Héraclides Pheidippos et Antiphos à Kos. Par ailleurs, les auteurs grecs mentionnent aussi l’arrivée de Doriens dans ces îles. Parallèlement, nous analyserons le matériel archéologique de la fin de la période mycénienne et de la période protogéométrique.
Abstract. —This article examines the situation in the Dodecanese at the end of the second millennium BC based on both literary tradition and archaeological documentation. Legendary accounts tell of the settlement of the Heraclid Tlepolemos in Rhodes and, more briefly, of the Heraclidae Pheidippos and Antiphos in Kos. Greek authors also mention the arrival of Dorians on these islands. At the same time, we will analyse the archaeological material from the Late Mycenaean and Protogeometric periods.
